Cocktails for a Cause: Wounded Warriors Outdoors Results

Last night the University Club of Orlando hosted one of their most successful Cocktails for A Cause, and the charity in the spotlight for the evening was Wounded Warriors Outdoors.  Guests for the event began arriving early eager to see the selection of over 70 different auction items.  During the silent auction both guests and members drank and mingled, all the while keeping close eyes on the items they chose to bid on, making sure they remained the highest bidder.
When Ron Raboud, the founder of the WWO organization was given the microphone, the entire club went quiet, everyone intently listening.  He spoke of their success stories, the difference between therapy in a hospital versus therapy on one of their outdoor adventures, and also he couldn’t thank the guests and members enough for coming out and supporting their cause.  For every $4,500 raised they will be able to fund one serviceman or woman.  Once he was done speaking the bars filled up and the tips came in, in hoards.  In just cash tips alone they raised over $700 and the silent auction pulled in over $25,000, and more donations are still coming in from the members. With the success of this event the WWO organization will be able to fund 5 trips and are close to funding a 6th trip. In an hour and a half the Wounded Warriors Outdoors brought in more people and more donations than previous Cocktails for A Cause.
After this successful event the University Club of Orlando is anticipating their next Cocktails for A Cause with the Florida Youth Chamber of Commerce coming up on April 21.

  1. Cocktail party for a cause! Sounds simply great. At one of local lofty spaces, there will be an end of year cocktail party. Eagerly waiting for this interesting annual event as have never attended it and this year, definitely going to make it.
